Frequently asked questions about Heavenly Match in-person events—registration, check-in, and one-on-one meetings. For app and membership questions, see our general FAQ on the main site.
Registration & before the event
Register by completing the registration form for that event. Watch for the event flyer and registration link in the broadcast message.
Answer each question accurately and completely. Upload a clear, good-quality photo so other candidates can decide whether they would like to speak with you. You may choose to keep your photo private, but we highly recommend keeping it public.
Yes. All information is handled by matchmakers who have signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Your details are only accessible to and used by the HM matchmaking team. Other candidates cannot see your contact information or any private comments you share for matchmakers. If you want your information deleted after the event, use the relevant option on the registration form.
The HM team will email instructions to the address you provide. Make sure your email is correct and watch for messages from [email protected]. Add this address to your contacts so messages are not filtered to junk mail.
Book travel and hotel accommodation in advance if you are visiting from out of town. We also recommend you watch this webinar on spouse selection by HI Syed Farhat Abbas before the event.
No. Only registered candidates may be in the HM hall during the event.
Check-in & at your table
Go to the registration desk and show a photo ID along with the 3-digit ID from your confirmation email. After verification, you will receive a badge with that same 3-digit ID.
The 3-digit number on your badge is your unique ID—the way interested candidates identify you when requesting a meeting. Wear your badge at all times during the event and keep the ID visible.
Candidates are grouped by age. Each age group has a color code, and your badge shows the color for your group.
No. Based on your badge color code, matchmakers will ask you to sit at a specific table. Please follow their directions.
- Matchmakers will run an introduction session—please listen carefully to their instructions.
- You will introduce yourself (name, occupation, city, and one interesting fact). If you prefer, a matchmaker can introduce you.
- Ice-breaking activities will help you engage with others at your table.
Yes. The event includes activities where candidates move between tables so you can interact with more people.
Meetings & match requests
After the initial ice-breaking sessions, you will receive access to a portal you can open on your phone. There you can view other candidates' profiles and submit match requests for up to a limited number of candidates (the exact limit will be shared at the event).
Open the Conversations tab in your portal. There you can see the status of every request you have submitted.
No. Portal access is revoked when the event concludes—you will not have access after the event ends.
Tell the matchmaker at your table if you have not been matched for a one-on-one meeting. Matchmakers will help arrange a meeting where possible.
Matchmakers will contact you at the phone number you provided on the registration form.
When both candidates agree to meet, matchmakers escort you to a meeting area with a chaperone. Meetings are timed; afterward, you return to the main room.
Other
Both men and women are requested to be in proper hijab. The dress code is business casual for men, and Islamic modest dress for women. Whatever you consider modest is fine, such as a dress, long pants, etc (it does not have to be traditional clothing i.e. shalwar kameez).
Email the organizers at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
We hope you enjoy the event and make the most of this opportunity to connect with others.
